Join The Fight Against Alzheimer’s Disease: Upcoming Events
For anyone close to me or my family they know that Alzheimer’s Disease is something that has impacted us greatly. My great grandmother passed away from complications due to Alzheimer’s Disease and my grandmother is currently battling it as well. I have seen first hand the impact it has not only on the individual but also the husbands, wives, children and grandchildren. It is incredibly difficult to see someone you love so much not recognize you when you visit them.
With this in mind, my family and I started a memorial golf tournament a few years ago in an effort to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association. If you aren’t familiar with this fantastic organization take a look at the video below.
Jerry L. Griffis Memorial Golf Tournament Supporting Alzheimer’s Research
On August 9th, 2019 the annual Jerry L. Griffis Memorial Golf Tournament will take place at Broadlands Golf Course in Broomfield. This shotgun style scramble golf tournament will see all proceeds donated directly to the Alzheimer’s Association. Walk To End Alzheimer’s
Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. This inspiring event calls on participants of all ages and abilities to join the fight against the disease!
When you participate in Walk, your fundraising dollars fuel the Alzheimer’s Assocation’s mission, and your participation in the event helps to change the level of Alzheimer’s awareness in your community. The Alzheimer’s Association provides free, easy-to-use tools and staff support to help participants reach their fundraising goal. While there is no fee to register, the Alzheimer’s Association encourages participants to fundraise in order to contribute to the cause and raise awareness.
Take the first step by finding a Walk near you. Once you register, you will have access to a wide range of tools and support through your customized Participant Center. Join and lead the way to Alzheimer’s first survivor. Together, we can end Alzheimer’s disease!
